Located in Clyde, North Carolina, our property is a quick drive from Asheville (25 miles) – Maggie Valley and Waynesville are only 12 miles away. This is the Smoky Mountains at its best. We are open year-round, our cabins & cabooses are pet-friendly and they all have wi-fi. Buffalo truly roam on this private 72 acre little piece of heaven. You can watch the sunrise over the Smoky Mountains or join us as our herd of buffalo come in for their morning oats. You will not be disappointed while you are enjoying a cup of coffee on one of the decks of our gorgeous log cabins. A stay at Buffalo Creek Vacations is surely one that your family will always enjoy looking back on! Your cabin will have free wi-fi, satellite TV, large charcoal grill, full size washer-dryer, front porch and back deck, and pets are welcomed (pet fees apply). INCLUDES: - Two Nights Accommodations - Wood-burning Fireplace (with starter supply of wood) - Hot Tub - Access to Game Room at the Main Ranch You will stay in either Hare Pin Inn or the Horse Shoe Cottage. Hare Pin Inn features two bedrooms with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds with a sleeper sofa. Horse Shoe Cottage is a 3 bedroom, which has 1 queen, 1 full & 2 twin beds. Both sleep 6 people and are located 3 miles from the main ranch where the bison, game room & playground are as well as lots of other animals: mini horses, goats, llamas, turkey, rabbits & birds!. Why Support
Women Leading Technology’s goal is to help increase opportunities for girls and women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, the Arts, and Math (STEAAM) education and careers – individuals who, as a whole, are an underrepresented community. Subsequently, our mission is to create avenues for girls to attend the WLT STEAAM Experience for Girls, which empowers them for the future through hands-on learning experiences in STEAAM. Our initiatives are centered on raising awareness and funds to support this much-needed resource, which is designed to address the lack of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) in this sector.
Special Focus
One project that is dear to our hearts this year is the WLT STEAAM Experience for Girls Architecture Challenge, which is for girls in pre-k through high school. We are partnering with The University of Texas at Dallas, and the project and learning activities will be hosted at UT-Dallas’s Richardson IQ headquarters in Richardson, Texas.
In 2023, from January to April, the girls will come together to learn the principles of what it takes to become an architect. They will design life-sized playhouses, similar to model homes. They will create blueprints and pick out their building materials, and the selected teams will build their desired homes with the guidance of an industry instructor and architecture college student.
Together, we can reach our Giving Day goal of $70,000 to provide these vital educational opportunities to girls and help equip them for bright futures in STEAAM.
